POST D: BUYER (1 POSITION) REF: ZPCHO 09/06/22
THE POSITION
The Buyer will be based at Head Office and will be responsible for procurement administration for ZPC’s Small Thermals, Hydro projects and Hwange. The major challenge of this position is to perform a comprehensive professional and procurement administrative support function and handle low value purchases for the company.
Key Performance Areas
- Maintains an appropriate filling system and keep track of documents generated
- Ensure that requirements for Head Office including consumables are ordered
- Checks the correctness for purchase requests, specifications, analyse descriptions and obtain additional information where necessary
- Researches for and selects potential and suitable sources of supply in line with existing laws and procedures
- Attends tender opening and performs tender secretariat duties in meetings
- Evaluates received bids, quotations, and other terms against tender and prepare comparative schedules
- Issues purchase orders to suppliers after approvals
- Complies purchase requisitions order status reports and other reports as and when required.
Qualifications and Experience
- 5 ‘O’ Levels including English Language and Mathematics
- A Degree in Purchasing and Supply or equivalent
- Membership of a recognized professional institution
- At least 2 years post graduate experience
- Knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage
