Zimbabwe Power Company
Zimbabwe Power Company (ZPC) is wholly owned subsidiary of ZESA Holdings group of companies. It is responsible for the generation of electricity and other energy related services. ZPC is composed of five business units.

The company's mandate is to generate electricity for the domestic market. The Small Thermal Power Stations are operating as embedded generators (i.e. power stations that are directly connected to the distribution network) but will be dispatched only to meet supply shortfalls as follows:


  • For strategic system security.
  • To cover constraints on the national grid.
  • To provide an alternative to imports to reduce demand on foreign currency.
  • To sell electricity to the domestic market through PPA's with the Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC).
